WIP Frankenstein's Castle
Ballpoint Pen on A2 size watercolour paper.
I started this last Christmas. Its part of drawings for me trying to master ballpoint pen. I did the outlines in pencil that day. And I started with the inks on December 30. It took 10 hours to do all the inks of the 2 darkest layers in the foreground. The background sky I did today in a little under 2 hours in. The Subject in the drawing is the castle from Young Frankenstein.

The Mummy: Boris Karloff
Boris Karloff born (William Henry Pratt) November 23, 1887
"... working at UNIVERSAL PICTURES in the Spring of 1931(Frankenstein) was a forty-two-year-old bit player named Boris Karloff. The thin, swarthy Englishman had endured twelve years in movies, waiting for a role that would lift him from the ranks of the occasionally employed. In 1926, one of his worst years, Karloff had almost given up..."

Selina Kyle 2
Im a bit more satisfied with how this turned out. It took me more than two house to do this because I was also watching her most recent episode of Saturday Night Live and could not stop laughing at the facial gymnastics that the was exhibiting, who could honestly. LOOK AT THESE:
And these two:
And why didn't they let her play Stefon?
Selina Kyle
It just found out that Anne Hathaway had a birthday a few days ago. So I rushed to do a piece based on her now most memorable character. I'm not really happy the with the final product here. I went into the default pattern of using the pen. I still lacked the control to give the detail to the hair with my technique so I'm going to need to practice that more.
In any case
Happy Birthday ANNE HATHAWAY!

Ballpoint Practice:Frankenstein
Doing a bit of practice for a future project. I have to get the technique down before I move the the final pieces. There was a mistake doing this since the space around Karloff's face I did larger strokes, the desired technique would be the same as I used in the studies below, smaller finer strokes but it was 2am and I was sleepy when i did this piece.
Tonal value practice and shadow studies.
This is the final piece but pictured with the tool used. One dead soldier: Titus fine ballpoint pen(blue).
