Traffic: KOMIKON Comic Creation Contest

This is my winning entry to this years Komikon: Comix Creation Contest. I could not attend the Komikon on the first day when they announced that I had won. I was told the morning after on the way to Komikon, such a nice surprise. I cant count how many times I've joined this contest already(since 2009 probably). Thanks to Komikon again!

2012 02 25 Sketching Santo Niño Shrine

View of the sculpture between The Santo Niño Shrine. Tried practicing my soft pastels white stark contrast with the black paper.

Second attempt with the black paper. Needs more practice.

Last attempt on black paper, bit more like carving on this one.
This was a little cute store at the right side of the Shrine. It was hidden behind a demolished façade. I did it in ink a medium I am more confident in to capture the quirkiness of this contrast.
Took some time to interact with people around. Always nice.

All in all I cannot complain about the first Urban Sketchers Philippines group session in Tacloban City. I was able to coral  an old friend into drawing so that's a win in my book . I hope next time more would be able to join us.

Cebu Provincial Capitol

Well here's a find. I was digging through my old sketches. I drew these while I was in Cebu, doing research for my Thesis. After a morning of research I took a walk down Osmena Avenue to the Provincial Capitol Building. Now I wish I had made more drawing.
If you say that you might not recognize these edifices, it might be because these are illustrations of the back.
I can't believe I was already Urban Sketching before Urban Sketching was even a thing. :)
