Lucy by All India Radio

Lucky by All India Radio, is the viewable blood, sweat and tears of Australian based animation company 'Dee Pee Studios'.

It involves a painstaking animation technique, whereby the team paints in the air with glow sticks, frame after to frame to create entire sequences of animation, usually taking a whole night to shoot.

Lolita Covers Contest Results

I had totally forgotten about this contest. But recently i was emailed the details of a new contest. This time around the piece would be a cover for The Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco. I myself have not read the book, so i have no ideas at all what to do. But i am foremost here telling you all about this, in hopes to get more participants.

The first contest was, to design a cover for Vladmir Nabokov's LOLITA.

This book was also the inspiration for two Movie adaptations, the first -in 1962 was made famously by Stanley Kubrick.

The second adaptation was in 1997.

I sent in my submission and now that ive seen all the entries and i really love the winning submissions. See here at the contest organizers blog.

Disease

The end-all may come due to disease. I do believe that if the apocalypse comes, it would not be as big or as bombastic as movies or others forms of media depict it to be. It would come slowly maybe in the form of a virus/pandemic/plague. People would obviously try avert extinction, but would ultimately fail. This is one prediction i never want to see come to fruition.

Odd-bEll

During World War 2 the Japanese took possession of all material they could for the war effort. People wore simpler clothes and had to cut down on any or all indulgence to help their men in uniform.
One of the more usual cases for the war was the collection of metals for use in ships and weapons as Japan has very few raw materials at its immediate disposal. In 1942 the bell of the temple in the town of Shinano, Nagano was was taken because of these reasons. A huge rock was hung in the place of the bell, and after the war the owners decided not to put in another bell as they now consider it a memorial.
